Integration of Transit into Maps: As of today, transit icons on Google Maps are clickable in many locations around the world! Earlier in the year, we added transit icons for subway and light rail stations in major cities, but this release goes a step further and adds bus stop information for the cities we have it for. Icons for agencies that share data with us for Google Transit show additional information (in these cities, we show bus stops on the map tiles, and clicking on an icon shows line and departure information).

Flickrmap.com is a web service by Mark Zeman that allows you to put a flash based world map on your own website or blog. It will then automatically search your photos at Flickr for location information and plot the photos on your own map, on your own website.

It's as simple as tagging your photos with a city and country name! Flickrmap also supports photos that have been geotagged or photos that have location data encoded in their EXIF properties.

First time use of Flash and vector based map display. Good basic work, but a bit hard to interact with.

Map24 recently added some features to their interactive JAVA map display. You now can modify the perspective and tilt the camera to get a better impression of distance in you point of view. A playback timeslider is also added to watch your trip across the continent. A very well done online adaption of Googles Earth project!

Another nice Google Earth network link that I came across today via the Google Earth Blog: Now you can track your flight in (nearly) realtime, checking the current position and route of planes all over the US: LAX Inbound Flights Tracker

See your flight being tracked in realtime: If you enter any flight number, such as UAL 11 at Google you will be guided to several Airlines related sites. The third link (fboweb.com) then shows up the current location of the plane and updates dynamically.

Nothing new to do it with IPs. But we will see what happens if MS is does it with WLAN Access Points. Doens't have Transformat a comparable Localisation Technology...
